Meet Linda
We caught up with one of Santa Barbaras most beloved teachers. I first met Linda at The Green Yogi in Manhattan Beach but she has since moved north with her family. Linda embodies yoga. She is soft, kind, gentle, yet present, focused, and aware. You can practice with her on thegreenyogionline.com and yogaanytime.com.

I found yoga during my first year of college as a Drama major in NYC. It was part of our curriculum to move our bodies and work on body alignment. I literally fell in love with the practice after my first Down Dog. I was never particularly athletic or competitive, so the idea of simply breathing, stretching and strengthening all at once made so much sense!
To me, Om means consciousness. It means being aware of all that is and all that exists. It means being able to surrender to something bigger than myself, to transcend my ego, and to trust in the Universe. It means freedom and contentment.
I find my Om now through meditation. I try to make time for a long seated practice 2-3 times a week for 20 to 30 minutes. Disciplining myself to be still for this long often provides a serious amount of OM that I can then carry into every aspect of my life. ;-) If I can't get to that, I strive for at least 5 minutes of stillness and simple breath awareness a few times during the day. Nothing replaces stillness and mindfulness. That's how one connects to OM.

She teaches a strong, alignment-based, breath-filled vinyasa flow yoga yogastyle that seeks to find balance, peace, clarity and contentment.
